This policy applies under the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (nDSG/FADP) and, where applicable, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Legal Basis

We process data based on legitimate interest (Art. 31 nDSG / Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) to operate and improve the voting service.

Data We Collect

  • Pseudonymous voter ID — a random identifier stored in your browser (localStorage) to track your voting session. This is not linked to your real identity.
  • Vote data— which AI face you selected in each pair. Used to calculate ELO rankings and generate your “type” profile.
  • Admin cookie — an httpOnly session cookie set only for authenticated admin users. It is not used for tracking.
  • Basic server logs — IP address, browser type, and timestamps for security and rate limiting. Not stored long-term.

What We Don't Collect

  • No personal information (name, email, phone)
  • No tracking cookies or third-party analytics
  • No advertising identifiers
  • No real photos — all faces are AI-generated

Data Transfers

We use the following third-party services, both based in the USA:

  • Vercel Inc. — hosting and content delivery
  • Supabase Inc. — database and backend services

Transfers to the USA are protected under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.

Data Retention

  • Vote records are retained for as long as the service operates.
  • The voter ID in localStorage persists until you clear your browser data.

Your Rights

Under the nDSG and GDPR, you have the right to:

  • Access your stored data
  • Rectify inaccurate data
  • Request erasure of your data
  • Restrict processing
  • Data portability
  • Object to processing

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC) at www.edoeb.admin.ch or your local EU data protection authority.

How to Delete Your Data

  • Client-side data:Clear your browser's localStorage to remove your voter ID and session data.
  • Server-side data: Email contact@aifacebattle.com with your voter_id and we will delete your associated records.

Minors

This service is intended for users aged 16 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16.
